“One is only an instrument played by the universe. A symphony must be like the world. It must embrace everything”, said Mahler, and this closeness to nature seems most manifest in his Symphony No. 3. The last time that the longest symphony in the history of music was performed by Mahler specialist Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra was ten years ago.

The Lukács season ticket consists of three concerts full of new joys to discover. Above all, two young conductors. Ritka alkalmak egyike, hogy a világhírű, a hangszer fenegyerekének is titulált David Fray francia zongoraművész ad szólóestet Budapesten. Korunk egyik legmeghatározóbb Bach-játékosaként tartjuk számon, aki gyakran meghökkentően virtuóz előadásmódjával szinte elkápráztatja, olykor pedig szabályosan sokkolja a közönséget.

Silver Bear-winning filmmaker Dénes Nagy spent four years following György Kurtág’s everyday life with his camera. The resulting documentary, produced between 2021 and 2025, far exceeds the conventional boundaries of the genre.

As in previous years, the 2025/2026 Ferencsik season ticket is aimed primarily at lovers of the Viennese classics. Once again it, offers a wealth of enriching experiences. From Joseph Haydn, we will hear the Symphony No. 87 in A major, the Notturno No. 5 in C major, the “Clock” symphony and the Violin Concerto No. 4 in G major.
